When We Are Closed

If you need urgent medical attention or advice that cannot wait until the surgery re-opens, please telephone 111 or visit 111.nhs.uk

Calls to the NHS111 service are fee from both landlines and mobiles.

If you have an urgent (but not life threatening) problem when we are closed,

you can access support in Tameside & Glossop in 3 ways:

i) Ask reception for an appointment at one of the local Hubs in Tameside & Glossop for an appointment in the evening on weekdays, or on Saturday or Sunday morning. THIS IS AN APPOINTMENT ONLY SYSTEM

ii) visit the Urgent Treatment Centre at the Tameside Hospital site. THIS IS A WALK IN SERVICE open 09:00 - 21:00 7 days a week

Please see https://www.tamesideandglossopccg.org/local-services/local-services/urgent-treatment-(incl-walk-in) for more details

iii)  All our local pharmacies offer a Minor Ailments Scheme providing advice and treatment for coughs, colds, minor sprains and injuries, headaches, stomach upsets etc.

In the event of a life threatening medical emergency or accident

the nearest A&E Department is at

Tameside General Hospital, Fountain Street, Ashton-under-Lyne OL6.

If you cannot get there quickly, you can ring for an ambulance by dialling 999.

Ambulances should only be called in emergencies.

If you are in severe pain that is not helped by painkillers, are bleeding a lot and it won’t stop, or you have experienced trauma of the face, mouth or teeth after a recent accident or injury, go to the nearest A&E Dept.

For dental treatment out of hours, you can call NHS111 for self-care advice.

If your problem is more urgent, you can access out-of-hours dental services in your area by telephoning your dentist, who should have an answerphone message with details of how to access treatment out-of-hours.
